![]() ![]() Stegosaurus was well-armed to defend itself the tip of its tail bore four sharp spikes, each between 60-90 cm (2-3 ft) in length with some possibly reaching up to over 100cm. The young were likely predated upon by Allosaurus and Ceratosaurus with the adults being much more difficult to kill and were more likely to be preyed upon by Epanterias, Saurophaganax or Torvosaurus, though it is importnat to note that none of this is confirmed. The brain was quite small in proportion to the body, with the brain being about 80 g (0.17 lbs) in an animal that weighed 4.5-8 metric tonnes (9,920-16,000 lbs).Įstimates for Stegosaurus gives a top speed of 23-26.2 km/h (14.2-16.27 m/h).
